New 'Resident Evil' movie filming this year

Word out of Hollywood is that filming will begin this year on the third Resident Evil movie. Milla Jovovich will reprise her starring role in Resident Evil: Extinction.

The early rumor on sequels included a third installment titled "Resident Evil: Afterlife" which would be a post-Apocalyptic Mad Max-esque thriller that would set up the fourth movie set in Japan. It wasn't immediately known if Extinction would follow this same storyline or if a fourth movie is still planned.

Resident Evil: Extinction should find its way into theaters in 2007.
