Answer to Trivia

The original Planet of the Apes films were iconic at the time, but they don't really hold up over time. The "man-in-a-suit" series got a bit more kitschy with each film they released in the series.

And yet, we remember the films fondly. So, it's not surprising to see homages to the original films show up in the new series of Planet of the Apes films. In this week's War for the Planet of the Apes, there are several callbacks, but the most obvious one is the name of the human rebels, Alpha and Omega.

Fans of the originals will recall that Alpha and Omega was scrawled on the atomic bomb in Beneath the Planet of the Apes. The homage didn't end there. The logo on their helmets and flag also matches the logo on the bomb from Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

War for the Planet of the Apes is new this week on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.
