In post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, disgraced cop Ben Chaney (Josh Lucas) has to deal with his drink problem while investigating the murder of a beautiful cellist (Lake Bell). In a supernatural twist he gets help from an unusual quarter - the ghost of the victim herself. She's seeking to get justice for her brother (Nick Lashaway), who was convicted of her murder, but recent events lead Chaney to investigate an untrustworthy country club owner (Cary Elwes).
