When the death of a young American reveals to Alain Moreau that he was about to meet his identical twin, the retired French soldier is determined to learn more about his late brother. Assuming the identify of the powerful Mikhail Suverov, Alain travels to New York inheriting the affections of Alex Minetti (Natasha Henstridge) and the hatred of Ivan, a power-hungry climber in a local Russian syndicate.
