Bobby (Favreau) is an aspiring boxer who refuses to abandon hisdreams, despite the urgings of his friend Ricky (Vaughn) to pursue ahigher position in the organization of old-time mob boss Max (PeterFalk). When Max gives the two friends the opportunity to do a job forhim in New York, Ricky takes it as a sign that they're moving up inthe world - and in his own inimitable fashion, he makes sure everyonein Manhattan knows it.
