Nicole Steps In After Tom Gives 'Cold' The Shoulder

Nicole Kidman must have been reading her ex-husband's scripts while she was waiting for her divorce papers to go through. Earlier this year Tom Cruise walked away from the movie Cold Mountain citing creative differences with the movie's producers.

But Tom's departure opened the door for Nicole to come on board as the female lead. Also joining the cast is Renee Zellweger and Jude Law, who has taken over the role abandoned by Cruise.

The story follow a critically wounded Civil War soldier who struggles to make it home after the war to track down the love of his life (Kidman). Meanwhile, Kidman and her sister (Zellweger) have their own problems as they struggle to keep the family farm following the death of their father.
