Katharine Hepburn passes away at age 96

The world has lost one of the greatest actresses of all-time. Katharine Hepburn died Sunday at her childhood home in Connecticut. She was 96.

Hepburn won a record four Oscars in her long career. Her record of 12 Academy Award nominations stood until this year when Meryl Streep was nominated a thirteenth time.

Hepburn was in ailing health in recent years but is believed to have died of old age. Broadway will pay tribute to the legend on Tuesday when it will dim its lights at 8 p.m.
