Will Ferrell flirts with 'The Producers'

Saturday Night Live vet Will Ferrell might be warming up his vocal cords for his next project. The comic genius is said to be considering the role of a failed Nazi playwright in the big screen adaptation Mel Brooks' musical The Producers.

Broadway stars Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick are reprising their roles for the film that follows a producer and an accountant as they back a sure-fire flop. Mel Brooks directed the original 1968 movie that starred Gene Wilder in an Oscar nominated role.

Nicole Kidman is also signed on to the project, taking the role of sensual secretary Ulla. Will Ferrell can next be seen on the big screen in Anchorman.
