Extended 'Return Of The King' by Christmas

Santa's list of must-have DVDs just got a wee bit longer. New Line announced today that they are preparing an extended DVD version of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King to debut in December. No other details concerning content or exact street date were immediately available.

This news is a slight deviation from their release plan for the previous Lord of the Rings movies when they brought out the deluxe DVD versions in mid-November to capitalize on the complete holiday buying period. New Line said that logistical issues were primarily to blame for the slight delay as all the principal participants from the movies had moved on to new projects.
