Fox moves forward on 'Survivor'

According to author Chuck Palahniuk's web site, Fox has officially given the green light to Survivor. Before you get out your sunblock and immunity idol, Chuck Palahniuk's book has nothing to do with the popular TV show, unless you count its underlying cultish themes.

Survivor tells the unique story of the last remaining member of a suicide cult who has hijacked a plane and tells his story into the flight recorder before it crashes into the Australian Outback. Fox also brought Palahniuk's Fight Club to the big screen in 1999 with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.

Fox and Palahniuk were close to finalizing a deal on Survivor in 2001, but the attack on the twin towers pushed the project to the back burner because of the plane crash storyline.
