Captain Kirk beams up for space flight

While his longtime onscreen persona Captain Kirk has been boldly going where no man has gone before for almost 40 years, William Shatner is hoping for a space voyage of his own. According to adventure monger/billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson, Shatner is among 7,000 people who have agreed to pay a fare of $210,000 for a space flight offered from his company Virgin Galactic.

Branson owns Virgin Group which runs the many off-shoot businesses which include a records label, a British airlines and a cell phone company. Branson is also the focal point in the new Fox TV series “The Rebel Billionaire” in which contestants perform wild stunts all in an effort to win Branson’s blessing and a million dollar prize, not to mention a post as President of one of Branson’s companies.
