Portman has a 'Vendetta'

Natalie Portman has been tapped to join the Wachowski brothers for their V for Vendetta. The Wachowskis and Joel Silver are the producers for the Warner Bros. picture, while first-time director and long-time Wachowski collaborator James McTeigue will take the helm.

"Natalie Portman is one of the most gifted actresses working today, and we're thrilled that she is bringing her extraordinary talents and presence to this film," Joel Silver gushed.

Vendetta is based on an Alan Moore (From Hell) graphic novel and follows a freedom fighter of sorts in post-Apocalyptic England who wears a porcelain mask and favors absurd acts as his weapon of choice. Portman will play a woman that he "liberates" from the Secret Police to join him in his merriment.
