Jon Stewart gets Oscar gig

Comedy Central's Daily Show host Jon Stewart has been tabbed to host this year's Academy Awards. Stewart's irreverent show that skewers all topics, with a definite liberal edge is a hit with the coveted 18-49 demographic and the Academy hopes Stewart will bring a more youthful audience to the lengthy telecast.

The 78th annual Academy Awards will be given out on March 5 and broadcast by ABC.
