Britney and K-Fed split

In news that will surely shock no one, officials confirmed that Britney Spears has filed for a divorce from Kevin Federline. "Irreconcilable Differences" is the ubiquitous reason behind their separation.

The couple, who appeared out of nowhere, dropped two kids on the world, Sean Preston (1 year) and Jayden James (just shy of 2 months), and it seems will dissipate just as quickly. Kevin Federline, or K-Fed, was a dancer and aspiring rapper who never really found much sympathy from the public.

It seems that there are rumors of the couple's split every week, but the divorce papers were confirmed Los Angeles County Superior Court spokeswoman Kathy Roberts. The couple married in 2004, which ironically was the second marriage for Spears that year after a failed 55 hour affair with childhood friend Jason Alexander.

Last night, Britney Spears surprised David Letterman when she showed up unannounced on his late night talk show.
