Someone's making Paramount "an offer they can't refuse."

Based on the success of the recent Godfather video game, rumors are circulating that Paramount is seriously thinking about fast tracking a couple of Godfather sequels. The two pictures in question would be based on the books "The Godfather Returns" and "The Godfather's Revenge," written by Mark Winegardner, the author hand-picked by the Mario Puzo estate to carry on the late author's legacy of the Corleone family.

The only sticky point is that "Returns" is set between the events of The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, while "Revenge" is set between The Godfather Part II and The Godfather Part III. Can anyone honestly fill Al Pacino's shoes?

Perhaps, Paramount should let these projects "sleep with the fishes."
