This summer's big hit film Transformers will land on DVD this October. Paramount will release a special, two-disc collector's edition as well as single disc variety on Oct. 16.

The two-disc version will include the following bonus features:

  • Commentary from director Michael Bay
  • Our World documentary
  • Their War documentary
  • More Than Meets the Eye featurette which includes From Script to Sand: The Skorponok Desert Attack, concepts, and trailers

Both configurations will feature the original, widescreen version of the film. No full-screen release is planned.

The two-disc HD-DVD release will include exclusive bonus features including an optional H.U.D. (heads up display) which will offer behind-the-scenes information while the movie plays. There will also be web-enabled features on this version of the movie.

The special edition will carry a $36.99 suggested retail price while the single-disc will list for $30.99. No word yet on the SRP for the HD-DVD release.
