Top 10 Kool Kitties

The funny thing about this week's dual lists is just how much easier it was as a guy to come up with a list of Cool Cats. For some reason, the list of Kool Kitties was a little more challenging.

Sure, we could have opted out for the safe bet and just compiled a list of really hot actresses and argued that cool equals hot, but where's the fun in that?

So, we've challenged ourselves to think outside the proverbial hotness box and come up with some Kool Kitties that challenge us both intellectually and physically. It wasn't easy but we did our best.

Something tells me that the feedback on this one is going to be through the roof. But before you rip us a new one, take a look at our list and I think we can convince you.

Or not.

  1. Megan Fox, Kristen Bell - Hey, if we can have two Cats on the verge of super coolness, then it's only fair to have two honorable mention Kitties as well. And these two certainly fit the bill. Megan is coming off of Transformers and Kristen is fresh from having the two hottest shows on TV fight over her services. I think it's safe to say that these two won't be on the outside looking in for long.

  2. Natalie Portman - Ok, you got me. Guilty as charged of being a crazy stalker freaky fan of Ms. Portman but hear me out. Whatever young actress in Hollywood is ready to step up and take the coolness reigns? From her debut in The Professional to last year's V for Vendetta, Natalie is an actress that is not afraid to take a risk and usually comes out on top. She shaved her head on screen for Heaven's sake...that has to count for something.

  3. Jessica Biel - If sexy equaled cool, Jessica would be at the top of the list. She still ranks on the cool factor thanks to her wide diversity of roles. Her impressive performance in The Illusionist spoke volumes for her coolness.

  4. Milla Jovovich - If you don't think that she's cool then you've never scene a single frame of any of the Resident Evil movies. Not only is she kick butt cool, but she's got an eternal beauty that made her convincing as The Fifth Element.

  5. Helena Bonham Carter - At 41, Helena might be getting up there in age, but her coolness continues to shine. She's always playing the dark cool better than anyone else on the planet. If you don't believe us, check out Sweeney Todd later this year.

  6. Jessica Alba - Ever since Dark Angel, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone more cool than she has been. While it seems that Jessica is focusing on romantic comedies now, she's only one leather bustier away from steaming to the top of the cool chart.

  7. Rosario Dawson - If you haven't seen her dance from Clerks II or her man-hating turn in Death Proof, stop what you're doing and go rent them now. I'll wait. Ok, now that you've seen them I don't think there will be any more arguments on her coolness.

  8. Gina Gershon - Now, granted her best cool years are behind her, but her everlasting lips might keep her on this list for a long time. When Bound came out, she was the list. Now she shares it with some other Kool Kitties.

  9. Kate Beckinsale - This woman wears more leather in her movies that anyone in Hollywood. And trust us, that's a good thing. She can simply do battle with the undead and the hairy one minute and steal our hearts the next. She is one kick-butt chick that I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley, or would I?

  10. Carla Gugino - This was a really tough decision for me. After Sin City is there anyone else on the planet that comes close to this much cool? Well, I'm not one to argue with Esquire, so I'll end up agreeing with them. But, if there was ever a 1A in cool, Carla would be it. And with roles in American Gangster and Watchmen coming up, it's a safe bet that she'll be around the top of this list for a long time.

  11. Charlize Theron - Remember back at the beginning of this article when I said that sexy didn't necessarily equal cool? Well, I fibbed a bit. As I mentioned a moment ago, Esquire named Chalize the sexiest woman alive. That makes her pretty damn cool in our book. All kidding aside, Charlize has been a shining beacon of cool since she hit the scene and even has an Oscar to boot. As far as cool goes, she's tops in my book.
