Our new favorite movie blog /Film (that's Slash Film) has a report on the most anticipated movies of the next year. That's "the next year" as in the next 365 days, not 2008.
The list comes from a survey of 2,000 theater-goers conducted by MovieTickets.com.
- Starship Dave
- Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
- Bee Movie
- Step Brothers
- Speed Racer
- The Incredible Hulk
- Mamma Mia!
- His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass
- Beowulf
- Hancock
- Charlie Wilson's War
- The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
- Get Smart
- I Am Legend
- Iron Man
- The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
- American Gangster
- National Treasure: Book of Secrets
- The Dark Knight
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls
Unlike Slash Film's Peter Sciretta, I'm not shocked to see Indy at the top of the list. It's the new installment of a much-loved and celebrated franchise. We haven't seen a new release like that since what -- Star Wars: Episode I? Perhaps Live Free or Die Hard.
I am a little surprised to not see J.J. Abrams' untitled monster movie (commonly referred to as Cloverfield) on the list. Wait a sec... Why should I be surprised? That's what you get for promoting a movie without freaking title!
