'Justice League' movie is back on for next year

Warner Bros. pulled the plug on the live-action Justice League movie in January, thanks in part to the Writers Strike. Now that the strike is over, the movie seems to be back on schedule for a 2009 release.

According to Variety, the studio is fast-tracking the project. Husband and wife writers Kieran and Michele Mulroney are finishing the script while director George Miller works on pre-production Down Under.

Various sources have the young cast as follows: Armie Hammer as Batman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Adam Brody as The Flash, and Common as Green Lantern. Others rumored for the film are D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter, and Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul (a villain).

Coincidentally, Warner Home Video just released a new animated JLA movie. Justice League: The New Frontier features an all-star voice cast including Kyle MacLachlan (Superman), Jeremy Sisto (Batman), Lucy Lawless (Wonder Woman), David Boreanaz (Green Lantern), and NPH (The Flash).
