Natalie Portman to tempt 'Thor''s hammer

You all know by now that I absolutely love everything about Natalie Portman. I can't help it. She is without a doubt both an acting ideal as well as attractive ideal in my book.

But, her latest casting rumor gives me reason to pause.

After surviving the tragedy that was the Star Wars prequels, it seems that Nat is going to tempt fate again by joining Kenneth Branagh's Thor. The usually spot on Portman is the front-runner to play the female lead.

By now, you're also equally well-versed in my general lack of knowledge of the comic book realm. Thankfully, Peter over at /Film speculates that there are three possible characters that could get the Nat treatment, Amora the Enchantress, Sif or Jane Foster. The latter is a nurse that apparently develops feelings for his Donald Blake alter ego.

I don't know about you, but the words Natalie Portman and nurse just made this my must-see film of 2011. What do you think of this potential casting? Also, who should play the titular character as they still haven't found their Norse god yet?
