'Up in the Air,' 'Nine' lead this year's Golden Globe nominations

Nominations for the second biggest awards in the film (and TV) industry were announced this morning. Up in the Air led the nominations the 67th Annual Golden Globes with six nods including Best Picture (Drama) and acting awards for George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, and Anna Kendrick.

The musical Nine followed closely behind with five nominations including Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) and potential acting prizes for Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, and Marion Cotillard.

Legendary director Martin Scorsese will be presented the Cecil B. DeMille Award by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment."

The Golden Globes will be awarded Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010. The ceremony will be telecast live on NBC starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. The always great Ricky Gervais hosts.
