Universal released latest trailer for the upcoming Universal movie Despicable Me today and finally we get something resembling a plot. Believe it or not, this is the fourth official trailer for this movie, but other than a few nuggets of character development and laughs, the first three trailers didn't give away too much of the story.

This strategy really isn't a surprise as Despicable Me is the first movie from Illumination Entertainment, the animation house founded by former Fox exec Chris Meledandri. Meledandri was in charge of the Ice Age movies that frequently used minor character Scrat in various teaser trailers before the full-length trailers were released.

As evidenced by the trailer below from Trailer Addict, the film about competing supervillains seems to contain equal parts charm and warmth to go with their dastardly plans.

It seems that the movie is more of a redemption tale and one that star Steve Carell excels at. After watching this trailer, I'm actually looking forward to seeing this in theaters come July 9. What about you?
