Chris Klein making lemonade from lemons?

In case the name Chris Klein doesn't ring a bell, allow me to remind you that he was one of the breakout stars from the American Pie movie. In fact, he was so huge at one point that he refused to come back for American Wedding.

Well, since then Chris' career hasn't exactly been shining as bright. American Dreamz, The Long Weekend and The Good Life didn't exactly burn it up at the box office. In fact, it's been awhile since one of his movies actually played at theaters and last week we got a potential glimpse as to why.

Apparently, he went out for a role in Mamma Mia! and his alleged audition tape hit the interwebs last week. Don't worry, if you missed it, we've got it right here, courtesy of College Humor.

Apparently no one told him that it might be a good idea to be able to carry a tune before going out for a part in a musical. Well, showing more moxie than I ever gave him credit for, Klein partnered up with Funny or Die to parody himself. You can see more "leaked audition tapes" below and frankly, it's hilarious if not a bit disturbing.

Sure, both the leaked Mamma Mia! audition and this parody reek of being planted by the actor to help jump-start his career, but if it was, then it's brilliant. I'm not saying that he'll land new A-list parts, but it certainly reminded me that the dude can be funny.

And if all else fails, there's always American Pie 4, in which he's rumored to return to the franchise that put him on the map. What do you think of these "leaked" tapes?
