In this corner, a child-like psychopath with a penchant for machetes and hockey masks and in this corner a deformed dream master with a penchant for children...

You can almost hear Michael Buffer salivating over this long awaited and much hyped cross-over movie. While many have speculated over the years that a "Freddy Vs. Jason" movie was a done deal, nothing has come to fruition. When New Line (who already has the rights to the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise) acquired the rights to the Friday The 13th franchise from Paramount, many thought that it was just a matter of time before we'd see the two most infamous slashers in cinematic history do battle. But, time has come and gone and still no showdown.

Well, fear not gore fans, it appears that two are Kings of Hack-And-Slash are getting ready for the main event. Word has it that New Line is considering a new draft of the corss-over concept that has Freddy following a new town of tormentees to Jason's stomping grounds of Crystal Lake where he encounters the masked one, who was conjured up from hell by a controlling witch. The tables quickly turn and Freddy gets the upper hand with a final showdown set in his dream world.

Sounds good, as long as the mysterious witch doesn't turn out to be from Burkittsville, Maryland...
