You may recall that when the teaser trailer for American Reunion debuted earlier this year, I applauded it as a great example of what a teaser trailer should be. So, when I got whiff of another teaser trailer hitting the web today, a red-band one at that, my curiosity was piqued.
The new trailer did not let me down. In fact, I would call it a great extension of the first teaser in what I can only hope will be a long trail of awesome peaks at the movie ahead of its April 6, 2012 opening.
Today's offering extends beyond the first trailer to actually give us a scene from the movie. I would imagine that the scene in question comes really early in the film, if not being the opening scene itself.
The scene features a subtle call back to one of Jim's favorite masturbatory aids and hints that Michelle may have found a handy replacement for her flute. The "teaser" also establishes that Jim and Michelle have started a family and while you may grow older, you don't necessarily have to grow up.
From this trailer, it's clear that American Reunion will indeed be a fitting addition to this franchise and that many more laughs will follow in April. It is deemed to be a red-band trailer intended for more mature audiences, so be forewarned.
However, if you're offended by this rather tame example of a red-band trailer, you might want to skip seeing the movie altogether. Let us know what you think.
