After watching the trailer to Eddie Murphy's new movie 1,000 Words, somebody better tell him not to quit his day job. Oh wait, um, he already did.

Just when you thought Eddie's week couldn't possibly get any worse after bailing from his Oscars hosting gig in light of producer's Brett Ratner's departure from the show, Yahoo! Movies had to go and release this trailer. I'm sure that Yahoo! Movies had this trailer debut planned weeks in advance and the timing is coincidental, but man, what a coincidence.

The trailer is so bad, that it quite literally might be the Worst Trailer Ever. I can see now why this movie has been shelved for so many years. I don't need the many reported negative test screening reviews to know that this movie might well represent the low-point of Eddie's career.

And when you've got a Pluto Nash on your film resumé, that's saying a lot. But as always, don't take my word for it. Watch the trailer below and share with us your own take on it. Just try and keep it under a thousand words, ok?

1,000 Words is still set for a March 23, 2012 although that date was chosen to ride the Oscars hosting bump. I'm pretty sure that the rash of negative reviews of this trailer just might push the movie back into Paramount's movie purgatory forever.
