VideoETA Podcast #12: I'm Batman

The following article and podcast were written/recorded prior to the tragic shooting in Colorado. We certainly do not intend any disrespect to the victims or their families with our comments here. Our sincere thoughts are with them at this time.

So, who is all excited about today's opening of The Dark Knight Rises? I know I am, but when I asked my partner in crime Tim if he was, he told me that he hadn't seen Batman Begins or The Dark Knight.

After I picked up my jaw up off the floor, I asked him how it was possible for someone who runs a film website to not have seen these two movies. He shrugged. And the thing is, he's the comic book.

Actually, I wasn't all that surprised because I had a sneaky suspicion that this was the case since he hadn't watched them the last time I asked a couple of years ago. He assured me then (really I think he wanted to stop bugging him about it) that he would watch them.

Well, I couldn't stand for it any longer. I outed him on Twitter and with your help we shamed him into watching these two iconic films this week. I was toying with the idea of having him "live-tweet" his viewings, but I quickly realized that the podcast was the route to go.

So, Tim watched them and we talked and we talked and we talked some more. I'm not going to lie, this one is a bit long, despite being almost solely dedicated to Batman. But we had a lot to talk about.

Did we fight? Did Tim call Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker overrated? There's only one way to find out, listen to our podcast.

We also include our regular Staff Picks and Box Office Over/Under (BOOU) game. Tim is relieved that I've reset the scoreboard for the BOOU and it's anyone's game.
