If you're looking for the official first look at the new film X-Men: Days of Future Past, then technically we have it, but you might be a bit underwhelmed. The first look isn't a trailer or even a teaser trailer, but instead a 50th Anniversary video of sorts for Trask Industries.

If you're scratching your head right now, then you and I are in the same boat. If you're grinning like the Cheshire Cat and scrolling down desperately to hit play on the video, then you've read the comics and you'll enjoy the video.

Some background for the rest of us. As we already know, the film will take part in two different time periods and different realities. That's why all the mutants, both the kids from X-Men: First Class and their older counterparts from the original X-Men films are featured in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The year is 2023 and Trask Industries, run by Peter Dinklage's Bolivar Trask, have spent the last 50 years developing mutant detection technologies and improving upon their Sentinel program. The Sentinel program is basically their line of really big robots with the sole purpose to protect normal humans from mutants.

Apparently, the Sentinels have a recurring bad guy role in the comics and everyone is curious what they'll look like. Well, wonder no more, this video pretty much reveals them in their big ass robot glory.

So, it would seem that the underlying plot thread of normal humans' xenophobia towards the mutants will be boiling over in X-Men: Days of Future Past. It sounds like a great film and despite this sort of disappointing first look at the film, I remain as intrigued as ever to see the film.
