You know that it's a bad sign when I'm not even through the weekend and I'm turning to alcohol. Actually, this one was a no-brainer - quite literally.

While Russians have long been known to favor their country's liquor of choice vodka, it was a robe-wearing bowler that put their namesake drink on the map for good. The Dude's appetite for White Russians in The Big Lebowski alone has to constitute for like 90% of its popularity.

Let's face it, cocktails have long played a big part in films. Whether it's shaken or stirred, everyone knows that James bond prefers a vodka martini. If you're watching The Bad News Bears you just know that Buttermaker is going to have a boilermaker sooner or later.

Drinking has become so synonymous with certain films that we can immediately name the film based on the drink that made it popular. For instance, everyone knows what I'm talking about when I say "any single Glen will do."

So, Russia goes with drinking and why not highlight the three top films featuring cocktails? Why not indeed, without further ado, here they are.

BRONZE

Remember in Blues Brothers when John Candy orders three orange whips?

Yep, that was classic.

SILVER

When Tom Cruise gets up on the bar in Cocktail and starts rhyming his drinks, you know that he's going to nail a home run.

And he does. One day, I'd like to drink all of these in succession.

GOLD

Have you ever wondered what a compilation of all the White Russians from The Big Lebowski would look like? Well, wonder no more.

Yeah, you just knew that there was no way that The Dude wouldn't end with the gold medal, although if The Dude were an Olympic athlete, I think he'd most likely be a snowboarder. Don't you think?

Well, it's been a fun day and here is the updated medal count.

Tomorrow, I look to give this series a clean sweep.
