'Gone Girl' trailer knocks it out of the park

Gone Girl is a divisive, unsettling book. So it's no surprise that the film looks to be just as unnerving as the book. When my wife watched the first trailer for the film, she was not impressed.

Personally, I enjoyed the dichotomy of the upbeat song playing over the absolute depravity that is this film's story, but it wasn't for everyone. My wife, for instance, wanted to see more of the dialog and how they were going to feature Amy's diary.

I told her to have faith. It's directed by David Fincher I said.

She remained skeptical, but I was already circling October 3 on my calendar.

Thankfully, the latest trailer which hit today eased her fears and we are both now counting down the days to October 3. There are 88 days until Gone Girl hits theaters by the way.

I don't know about you, but Ben Affleck is looking mighty guilty if you ask me. In addition to this awesome trailer, Fox also released these kick-ass posters.

Anyone who has read the book will tell you that their anniversary date is July 5, which is the date that these posters surfaced on various web sites. Well played, Fox. Well played indeed.
