Marvel's 'Ant-Man' gets full-sized trailer

Look, we get it. Ant-Man is small. And if Ant-Man ever gets into Avengers, Paul Rudd will be standing next to Mark Ruffalo at some point and a litany of size jokes will ensue.

It seems that Marvel is getting ahead of the story by launching a slew of size jokes in everything from a dot on a poster to the "Ant-sized" teaser trailer that was funny, but enough Marvel. We get it. Ant-Man is small.

Last night, Marvel debuted the "Human-size" teaser trailer for the film that comes out later this year and, frankly, it's a meh for me. I know, I know.

"Everything that Marvel touches turns to gold."

"Look at Guardians of the Galaxy you stupid, stupid boy."

And yet, this trailer didn't do anything for me in terms of getting me to the theater to see this film. I love Paul Rudd and I'm rooting for this film, but I think this might finally be the first misstep from Marvel, but we'll tackle that topic on another day.

When you combine this lackluster trailer with the whole Edgar Wright controversy, then you start to see a potential crack in the Marvel empire. This is the most scathing thing I can say about this trailer. To me, the trailer felt like something directly out of Sony's Spider-Man series and that's not a good thing.

The one positive thing in the trailer and what I think might save the film is Paul Rudd's humor. Sure, the two jokes in the trailer were rather obvious, but I have faith in Paul Rudd and his ability to bring the funny.

So, what did you think of the trailer? Ant-Man is set for release on July 17.
