Jennifer Lawrence's latest trailer will bring 'Joy' into your life

Stop me, if you've heard this one before. David O. Russell, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper make a film together.

No, it's not American Hustle. Nope, not Silver Linings Playbook either. The film that I'm talking about is the upcoming collaboration Joy.

I can see where you got confused there though as Joy represents the third straight film from director David O. Russell that stars the hot leading pair of actors. Obviously, Russell is loyal to his actors and likes to work with his friends. He just happens to be friendly with two of the hottest stars in Hollywood these days and the films they are making are some of the better offerings in the last few years.

Joy looks to be another film that will only fan the flames of these artists. We don't really know much about the upcoming movie other than the synopsis that was also released today.

JOY is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces.

Between that and the trailer, I'm getting a real female Godfather vibe from it and that's not just because Robert De Niro is in it. It's also his third film with David O. Russell. Whatever the case may be, it wouldn't take much to convince me to see Joy, but as per usual, David O. Russell goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Joy will debut in theaters on Christmas, just in time to make the coveted awards season.
