Director Ang Lee is being very meticulous and mysterious on deciding who will get the opportunity to play the dual roles of Dr. Bruce Banner and The Hulk in the live action comic adaptation set for release in 2003. Initially, it was reported that the role could be split between two different people (ala the popular TV series). But that idea was quickly scrapped, although Lou Ferrigno (who played the green beast in the TV series) will pop up in a cameo.

The next idea was to have The Hulk rendered completely with CGI, ala Jar Jar Binks. That idea fell short when the differences between the two characters became too great. Now, the idea is to have one actor play both roles. Right now, the leading candidate appears to be Eric Bana, a former Australian standup comic. Bana's best known performance is that of the controversial Chopper in the indie cult movie that will make its way to video on November 13th.
