'Spider-Man 2' Moving Forward

While other studios are being cautious about their pending comic book movies, Columbia is moving forward to insure that they stake out their piece of this lucrative genre. Reports today indicate that director Sam Raimi and Columbia have started making preparations on Spider-Man 2, the sequel to Spider-Man, due in theaters next summer.

While no details of the sequel have been given out in order to protect the financial success of the first movie, it is known that Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are contractually obligated for at least two sequels each.
