Michael Eisner and Steve Jobs are exchanging the intial blows in a heavyweight fight not seen since the inception of Microsoft. Apparently, the disagreement stems from a contractual agreement between Eisner's Disney and Jobs' Pixar companies.

Pixar, as you may be aware, is the computer animation house responsible for Toy Story and the upcoming Monsters, Inc.. They have an agreement with Disney to produce three more non-sequel films by 2005. Jobs had asked Eisner to waive the non-sequel requirement so that they could work on Toy Story 3, but Eisner steadfast to the original agreement.

What that means for us, the casual viewer, is that we will not see Toy Story 3 or Monsters, Inc. 2 before 2006.
