It's official. Actress Halle Berry has walked away from 'Gigli,' a movie she was set to film when scheduling conflicts came up with X-Men 2. It didn't take director Martin Brest to find a replacement.

Jennifer Lopez has signed to co-star with Ben Affleck in the "free-spirited, gunslinger" movie, which is slated to begin production in December, 2001. Jen was originally obligated to the project 'Tick Tock' for a December production start date, but in lieu of the tragic occurences on September 11th, the studio decided to postpone the filming. So now the newlywed can work away during her first year of marriage.

This will be Jen's biggest paycheck from her movie career to date, as the deal gave her $12 million up front and a percentage of the backend as well.
