New Line announced today that it is producing two big screen adaptations of "Samurai Jack," the breakout Cartoon Network series. One of the adaptations will continue in the animated style of the series, while the other one will be a live action movie directed by Brett Ratner, the man behind the lens for Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2.

The series revolves around an ancient Samurai who seeks revenge on a wizard that banished his emperor father. When "Samurai Jack" is about to get his ultimate revenge, the wizard casts a spell on the Samurai that transports him into the future. The series follows the exploits of the Samurai as he travels through time looking for the evil wizard that wronged him.
