A "virtual tanning bed" is the best name for it. Crazy is the best way to describe it. Pop legend Michael Jackson "darkened" his skin for his 30th Anniversary concert aired on CBS.

The concert was recorded in September and Michael decided he needed to appear "blacker" for the broadcast after seeing the extreme difference between his skin color and his brother's tones. So, thanks to computers, Michael was digitally enhanced to appear more black.
