Goldie Hawn's Tax Scandal

Hollywood star Goldie Hawn and companion Kurt Russell played it smart, or dirty, however you want to look at it. The couple own two estates built on almost 75 acres in Aspen, Colorado, and paid less than $1,800 in property taxes and were even issued a $36,000 refund.

They found a loophole in the farming laws that allows a huge cut in taxes if land is used "agriculturally." So, Goldie and Kurt started growing a little hay in a corner. They may be smiling but the planning commission in Aspen is red hot.

"There's something backward about someone in a mobile home paying $1,000 in tax. And then someone with 40-50 acres clearly being used as a luxury residence pays less than $1,800," Commission Mick Ireland fumed.

The two may love Aspen but it's likely they'll soon be more that The Out-Of-Towners...
