Tom Cruise To Lead The 'Lost Regiment'

Earlier this week, Paramount made sure that they kept their biggest star happy. They shelled out the big bucks in a pre-emptive bid to secure the rights to William Forstchen's "Lost Regiment" series of novels.

The eight-book series is said to be a new franchise for Paramount starring Cruise. The first book "Rally Cry" begins at the civil war when a Union Colonel and his troops board a space ship and get transported through space and time to a planet of aliens who are growing humans as food. The series follows the troops as they continue to make their way back to their proper planet and time.
