No one has seen ventriloquism like this before. Internationally acclaimed ventriloquist Nina Conti (daughter of famed actor Tom Conti) is at a career crossroads. Questioning whether she should continue in this bizarre career following the death of her lover and mentor Ken Campbell, she takes his "bereaved" puppets on a pilgrimage to Vent Haven, the Kentucky resting place for puppets of dead ventriloquists. At this strange gathering, Conti meets many other actual ventriloquists (and we witness their jaw-dropping talents), but also gets to know her latex and wooden traveling partners, pouring her broken heart out to them as if they were real people. By the end of this performance mockumentary, you may believe they are.
