'Suicide Squad' getting reshoots, going with the B-Team

The rumors are true, Suicide Squad is currently going through reshoots. Apparently, the story goes that they want to beef up the comedy and wackiness that was on display in the well-received "Bohemian Rhapsody" trailer.

I imagine that Warner Bros. also wants to set it apart as much as possible from the dark tone of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which opened to huge box office numbers last weekend, but the critical response has been tepid, to say the least. Audiences seem to have enjoyed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice but they do concede that there isn't as much fun in it than say their Marvel counterparts.

While DC has reaffirmed their choice to go for darker stories set in more a realistic setting, I think they realize that they have a unique opportunity in Suicide Squad to explore the more wacky side of comic book films. This formula resulted in massively big box office returns for Deadpool and it would seem that Suicide Squad is a great opportunity for Warner Bros. to grab a piece of that box office pie.

In other words, I wouldn't let the term "reshoots" scare you off from the final film that we will see on August 5. As for that B-Team, Funny or Die got exclusive footage of their performance in the film.
